These days, a credit card has become almost a necessity. Since I cancelled my American Express credit card there’s a huge range of goods and services I haven’t been able to access. Just ordering some clothes over the internet wasn’t possible and how basic is that in today’s world. I remember when using cash was the preferred way to buy things.

All across the country and the world, people are using their Visa, Mastercard card, or American Express credit card to make purchases with money that they do not have of goods which they may not need. How many people consider the cost of paying later when they have the convenience of having now, when using their American Express credit card. In many places around the world, credit card debts are increasing at a worrying rate. It is true that credit debts are one of the biggest problems that are facing America today, and that is no joke.

After considering this I decide to get rid of my American Express credit card at least for the present. Once I had the power to buy things without parting with my money immediately, I was almost unstoppable. I would charge everything and anything on it, and soon the costs would spiral out of control. When the debt became so great that I couldn’t possibly pay it, I began to panic.

Eventually, I used the services of a debt refinancing agency which enabled me to start paying some of the debt back. It was an awful situation I found myself in. There is a happy ending though because my debt is paid off and the American Express credit card has been destroyed. Don’t think I am making excuses when I blame my credit card because you are not taking into account basic human psychology.

When you have to pay for everything with cash, you are so much more conscious of how much it costs. As I said before, credit cards make the cost of things misleading because you don’t take any notice. I could spend money like water, and before I knew it, it was all gone. Now there is no American Express credit card; so no problem.
